We develop graphene photodetectors and light-harvesting devices for conversion of light into electrical signals and electrical power
Research in this project focuses on exploiting the potential that graphene offers in the production of electrical energy from sun photons. We will study the role that graphene may play as an intermediate transparent electrode in tandem organic solar cells or as the material for light absorption to exploit its potential in charge multiplication. The large extinction coefficient and its broadband absorption make graphene an ideal candidate to become one of the key materials for renewable energy production in the 21st century.
